Aran Islan – Ireland

Ireland is a land of incredible natural beauty, regularly ranking as one of the most wonderful and stunning natural locations on the planet.  The outdoor opportunities in Ireland are vast if you know where to go – so below are a few of the most beautiful places in Ireland that can offer you an experience like nowhere else in the world.

Giants Causeway

The Giants Causeway is named after a local myth which states that it was created by a giant, and it is a vast natural landmark that dominates the landscape in County Antrim in Northern Ireland.  It has since gone on to be named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in honour of its unique natural beauty.

Glendalough

Glendalough offers some of the most astounding photo opportunities in the world, abundant in vast lakes and valleys.  There is a large number of hiking trails that allow visitors to experience the incredible natural wonders of the region up close and personal.

The Aran Islands

These islands have long been famed for their inspiring qualities, managing to attract various famous Irish poets and artists over the years.  The rugged natural landscape offers some of Ireland’s most unspoilt sights, and there are even many unique ruins and cultural sites to be found in the area.

The Sperrin Mountains

The Sperrin Mountains stretch across two counties, and offer some of the most incredible sights and views in the country.  The outdoor opportunities here are almost endless, and the fact that the Sperrin Mountains are one of the least explored regions in the whole country makes this prospect even more exciting.

Sligo

Sligo’s seaside location allows visitors to enjoy the spectacular sight of the rugged coastline.  The scenery here is simply incredible, as the mountain peaks of the Knocknarea Mountain are juxtaposed with the flat and tranquil waters of the sea.  The cultural opportunities in Sligo are also some of the finest Ireland has to offer, including the village of Drumcliff which is where the legendary poet W.B. Yeats spent his final days.

Killarney

Killarney is a small town located in the South of Ireland in a county called Kerry. It is renowned for its beauty and the inhabitants of the town are known for their openness and friendliness. As well as this it offers superb facilities for such a small town (parking, tourist office, bars accommodation, clubs, a national park etc)

These are only a few of the many spectacular locations to be found in Ireland, each offering visitors something completely unique and wonderful in its own right.  Ireland’s natural landscape is simply astounding, rivaling any of the more established destinations around the world.  Ireland has an incredible range of natural beauty, so it offers something for everyone.
